Here’s a set owned and used extensively by one of the greatest drummers of all time. Steve Smith has defied the limitations of any genre. His career spans 6 decades in Rock, Jazz and World Music.

Steve played this set extensively live and in the studio from 1987 through 1995. He used the set with his bands Vital Information and Steps Ahead, as well The Jazz Explosion Super Band and Ahmad Jamal. It can be seen on the album sleeve of Vital Information’s FIAFIAGA album. The eight piece set remains in excellent condition, the only notable damage being some visible wear on the 10″ tom caused by rubbing on the snare drum.

The shells are made of 9 extremely thin plies of Scandinavian Birch finished in White Creme lacquer. The set consists of 8×8, 10×9, 12×10 and 13×11 mounted toms, 14×15, and 15×16 floor toms, with 20×16 and 22×17 bass drums. Two Sonor single tom stands and one double tom mount are included. No other hardware is included.

Both bass drums have Steve’s signature Journey bass drum heads, plus the 20″ bass includes a Vital Information logo head. A certificate of authenticity signed by Steve Smith is included. Steve can sign the drums at the buyers discretion.
