Round 2 of the Bun E. Carlos Collection sale will officially begin on September 21. This time Bun’s dug deep into his world drum famous collection and produced another 9 complete drum sets, 13 snares and about 50 cymbals. Much of this gear is from his previously “hands off” Cheap Trick collection that he is now making available for the first time. There’s also several vintage, prototype and one off items that I finally managed to pry out of his hands. All of the Cheap Trick items include a COA signed by Bun E. I have a limited # of Bun E’s used and hand signed drumsticks that will be included with every purchase while supplies last. I’ll be posting more items every day and will have everything up by the time the sale begins on September 21. Feel free to ask any questions.
I've always been a collector. My parents were collectors. I'm still a collector. I can't really explain why. It's in my blood.
Over the past 3 decades I've assembled a huge collection of Ludwig drum sets and snares in every finish I could find, including drums I've played during my 40+ years as a member of Cheap Trick.
Almost every drum is in excellent condition. Many are the best, or close to the best known example of a particular model, in fact some are mint and still in their original cases. The collection has grown to the point that its overflowing the barn where I keep it all displayed.
The focus of my collection has shifted. I've decided I don't need one of every finish ever made. I'm going to keep about half the collection and am letting the other half go. I want somebody else to enjoy these drums as much as I have and I want to make room for whatever drums that are coming my way in the future.
I've asked Donn Bennett to help me manage this sale. We've bought, sold and traded drums back and forth since the 1990s. He's a good guy.
Check out the collection. If you see something you like let Donn know. He'll take good care of you.
All the drums will ship from Chicago. If you'd like to pick up anything in person we can make arrangements to meet at my barn in Rockford, IL or at the Chicago Drum Show May 19-21.
