A handmade guitar by the late master Luthier Gerard Melancon. Brad began a relationship with Gerard Melancon in 2002 that would result in Gerard building 3 him guitars. Brad used this Gold Strat on Aerosmith tours starting in 2003. Live Photos courtesy of the Melancon family archive.

This Melancon Start was one of Brad Whitford’s “Go-To” guitars in the early 2000s. It can be seen extensively in Aerosmith’s 2004 full length concert DVD You Gotta Move. It can also be seen in “The making Of Honkin’ For Bobo” Brad’s black guitar strap seen in the photos is included. See and hear this guitar in the videos below.

Acquired directly from Brad Whitford. Brad’s guitar tech personally inspected the guitar. He adjusted the neck, polished the frets, oiled the fretboard, sprayed the pots and installed new strings. The guitar is in excellent working condition with no notable issues. The guitar is identified by an Aerosmith inventory tag on the headstock. It includes a hardshell case, one of Brad’s custom Aerosmith guitar pics and a certificate of authenticity signed by Brad Whitford.
