Zak Starkey’s The Who 2012-13 Quadrophinia DW Custom Drum Set. Complete! Authenticated! $29,995.
This DW Red and Blue acrylic set was custom made for Zak Starkey. He used the set on The Who’s 2012-2013 Quadrophenia tour. This unique, one of a kind set features clear acrylic shells in red and blue with DW badges and Pacific tube style lugs. In keeping with the Quadrophenia theme some of the drums even have side view scooter mirrors!
This set has been used in a few different configurations. The 13″ blue tom visible in the live photos and videos was used on the multi-color clear DW set that Zak used at the 2012 Olympics closing ceremony and replaced with the red 13″ tom seen in the current photos. The set currently includes the following,
One red and one blue 24″ bass drums, 13″, 14″, 15″ red rack toms, one red and one blue 20″ floor toms, a Ludwig Chrome 402 6.5×14″ snare drum and a complete set of Zildjian cymbals and DW hardware (see photo). Both bass drums are mounted with two May Internal Mic Mounts. Both bass drums include one Sure Beta bass drum microphone. The rack toms are mounted on two DW shell mounted tom holders. The holders didn’t arrive in time for the photo session but will be included with the set. The two DW double tom stands in the photos are not included. The drums are in excellent condition with no cracks or damage. The photos depict the condition accurately.
The set of Zildjian cymbals include two K. Zildjian 21″ Crash/Rides, two 24″ A. Zildjian Crash/Rides and a pair of 16″ A. Zildjian hi-hats.
Also included are a laminated tour pass, Quadrophenia tour poster signed by Roger Daltrey, Pete Townsend and Starkey plus a pair of Zak’s sticks. Acquired directly from Zak Starkey. COA signed by Zak Starkey.
