Bun E. Carlos’s Ludwig Early 1960’s Chrome Over Brass 6.5×14″ 402 Supra-Phonic Snare. $995.00
From the world famous Bun E. Carlos Drum Collection.
This tough little brass workhorse has taken a few hits over it’s nearly 60 year life span, but it just keeps getting up and is ready for whatever you can throw at it. The drum sounds great but it’s got a few war wounds, most notably a big hole where the badge once was. I have no idea what someone was trying to do when they enlarged to the air vent. It looks a little weird but still plays and sounds great. The internal muffler also went missing in action leaving the original factory holes.
Early 60’s brass shelled Supra-phonics are legendary for their versatility, warmth and sensitivity. The deeper shelled 402 model is considered to one of the greatest sounding drums ever made. They weren’t as popular as the shallower 400 model so there’s not too many of them out there. The early 60s chrome over brass 402 model Supra-Phonic snare is the “go to” snare of countless players, engineers and record producers all over the world. Head and shell signed by Bun E. Carlos. Includes a pair of Bun E’s hand signed signature drumsticks.
Here’s your chance to get your hands on one of the best sounding snares ever made, with a history of being owned by Rock and Roll Hall of Fame drummer Bun E. Carlos.
